News For Now checks out this cool new shop, dedicated to gamers and their lifestyle. With top of the line Alienware gaming machines for the PC Gamer, 3 Console stations with huge HD screens for an enhanced gaming experience including Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation 3 and the XBOX 360. The Game Table spared no expense to create a gamer's dream. The shop comes in two floors, the top - main floor for their store items including comics, cards, collectibles, games & art and the computers & consoles. The second lower floor, is for table games/card games. Sadly, this local hang out doesn't have a kitchen of food and drink, but it's mentioned on their blog that they have ordered in food to their location. On the plus side, one soda machine and snack machine is available as well as a latrine with sink soap and water. Please remember to wash your hands before going back to touch any gaming devices - respect your fellow gamers please! On staff I got to meet and talk with David VanderWerf, who is not only the owner but also a fellow passionate gamer! Him and his coworkers were very polite, extremely knowledgable about the games and very happy, willing and able to answer any questions. While there I got to check out what the customers were playing. On the lower level, gamers were playing the card games Magic The Gathering and A Game Of Thrones. On the main level, Rockstar on the XBOX 360, Guitar Hero on the PS3, on the PC's Counter-strike: Source, The Ship and World Of WarCraft. Mr. VanderWerf had also mentioned another cool happening in their store, tournaments and contests. They had recent games of Magic the Gathering where players could win prize money or special rare cards. And a Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament on the Nintendo Wii for $$ as well. I look forward to partaking in one of these events as I am a fellow gamer myself. While this review may sound all well and good, the only two down sides I have to note is that 1) The Air conditioning could use some more juice! and 2) the PC's while cool alienware, were only in the amount of 4. At the time this article was written, Mr. VanderWerf said they're already in the works of getting more machines... so I hope that means we'll have some awesome 5 on 5 matches. Dave did make note that anyone who would like to bring a laptop to utilize their wifi access at a daily charge can get in their lan events.
